JOURNEY LINE PERSON

KEYS currently has a Journey Line Person position available. This position requires that the applicant have a high school diploma or equivalent, have successfully completed the approved Apprentice Lineman Training Program (or equivalent, as determined by KEYS), possess considerable knowledge of the practices, methods, and materials used in the overhead electric transmission and distribution trade, and a Florida Commercial Driver License - Class A, with a good driving record. Applicants will also be required to pass a basic math test.

GIS/AutoCAD Operator

The primary responsibility of this position is to develop and maintain geographic information system (GIS) projects utilizing ESRI ArcMap combined with Milsoft's WindMil (electrical model), collaborating with other departments to effectively integrate and manage GIS for the utility.

Duties include: working with Information Services Department and database software developers to implement/maintain system; preparation of maps, digitizing, interpretation, and analysis of data in GIS; preparation of GIS data for use on mobile devices; utilize AutoCAD to create drawings for new and modified construction projects; generate maps in GIS; read and interpret electrical utility asset connectivity maps and maintenance tickets to enter, edit, and update GIS; work with field representatives, engineers, and other departments to resolve design as-built connectivity discrepancies.

Interested applicants must possess the following minimum qualifications, in order to be considered: high school diploma (or equivalent); AutoCAD certification; proficiency in GIS operations for electrical facilities; knowledge of electrical principles; ability to create spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel; effective communication skills - verbal and written; valid Florida Driver License with acceptable driving record.

Preferred qualifications include: BS degree in Geographical Information Systems or other area of science; 2-years of work experience in GIS (preferable in electric utility industry using Milsoft products); understanding of outage management systems and integration with GIS; experience using graphics programs, such as Adobe; familiarity with SQL databases, such as Microsoft SQL Server; understanding of electrical one-line drawings, schematics, panel schedules, etc.

Starting hourly rate: $31.76 - 33.53 depending on experience

Utility (Substation) Electrician

Utility Electrician

This position is responsible for: installing and maintaining electrical equipment, including constructing, and maintaining substations, underground transmission and distribution lines, towers, fixtures, service transformers, traffic lights, and street lights; programming traffic controllers; troubleshooting, programming, and maintenance of microprocessors, and digital and electronic equipment; performing work in and around energized lines and equipment with voltages ranging from 120- to 138,000-volts. A qualified applicant must have two years' experience as a fully-qualified electric utility electrician, including work on, troubleshooting and programming of microprocessors, digital, and electronic equipment (RTU's, SCADA, protective relays and control systems), and traffic light control equipment; a Florida Commercial Driver License (CDL - Class B); be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Must pass a basic math test and computer assessment.
